"I am grateful to those who have helped move Redimere Revealed forward towards full publication," Andrew James recently announced. "To those who have donated, and suggested others do the same, I thank you."
After overshooting the scheduled deadline for raising funds on Kickstarter, a popular crowdfunding website, James announced that though the project had not reached its goal in full, it would be enough to move forward.
"We have raised enough to move Redimere into the next phase of publication, and possibly the one after. It isn't enough to get the novel all the way to distribution, but that will be a concern for another day."
After thanking everyone who helped the effort once more, he announced the campaign's end.
In a separate interview, James had this to say about the fundraising attempt.
"I've just never been fantastic at self promotion, when it gets right down to it. I'm really sort of embarrassed to admit it, but I was really hoping I could depend on other people to really put the word out there."
When asked about any future plans to crowdfund, James grinned.
"Well, let's be honest. This was definitely a learning experience. If I do this again, I'll do it differently, and who knows? Maybe the outcome will be different as well."
